Cisco Launches New Research, Highlighting Seismic Gap in Companies' Preparedness for AI
This Cisco press release focuses on a new research study highlighting the level of preparedness in AI among enterprises.
Cisco's research indicates that 97% of global organizations have reported an increased urgency to deploy AI-powered technologies within the last six months. Furthermore, 61% of these organizations believe they have a maximum of one year to implement their AI strategies before facing negative impacts on their business.
According to Cisco's AI Readiness Index, only 14% of organizations are fully prepared to deploy and leverage AI technologies. The majority, over half, are categorized as either Laggards (4%) or Followers (48%), indicating significant gaps in readiness across key business pillars such as strategy, infrastructure, and data.
Challenges in AI Integration
Organizations face considerable challenges in integrating AI, particularly due to data silos. Cisco's research found that 81% of respondents struggle with fragmented data across their organizations, which complicates the ability to leverage AI effectively. Additionally, only 17% of organizations have networks that are fully flexible to handle the increased workloads associated with AI.
